Interests and conflicts.

If you are going to tell me the hard part of your business, you should know what else I am in the room as.

01

What I own.

Avcı Ventures is my personal investment vehicle. It is not a fund. There are no outside investors and no investment committee. The money is mine and the decision is mine.

Separately, I am Managing Director of Viking Europe BV in Amsterdam, and a partner in two operating companies: Viking Cleaning and Cosmetics, which manufactures fast-moving consumer goods and runs private-label programmes for European retailers, and Vikipack Plastics and Chemicals, which produces industrial plastics and chemical raw materials.

Those are four business lines — FMCG, international consumer goods trade, plastic production, and chemical raw material production — and they are live, competitive businesses. They were not built around Avcı Ventures and they do not answer to it.

02

What that means if you write to me.

It means the person reading your application also part-owns a manufacturer that may already be working in, or may later independently enter, a category you are about to describe. That is not a hypothetical risk I am managing. It is a structural fact of who I am, and you should price it before you type.

It is also the reason I can tell you things a fund cannot. Both are true at once. You get to decide whether the trade is worth it.

03

What I do with what you send.

I read every application myself. There is no analyst and no screening team.

It is not circulated to Viking Europe, Viking Cleaning and Cosmetics or Vikipack, and it is not used as an input to their products, pricing or sourcing. It is not shared with other investors. It is never used as material for anything I publish — not named, not anonymised, not as a composite.

If I want to introduce you to a buyer or a distributor, I will ask you first and name the person. An introduction is a disclosure, and it is yours to authorise, not mine.

04

What I cannot promise.

I cannot promise that nothing resembling your product ever appears from a company I am part of. Manufacturers develop products continuously, I am one of several owners, and I am not going to give you an assurance I have no way to keep.

What I can do is tell you when I see the overlap. If your application sits close to something Viking or Vikipack already does, I will say so in my first reply rather than at the end of a process — and you can ask me to delete the submission, which I will do.

05

So do not send me your formulation.

Describe the problem, the market, the team and the commercial shape of the business. That is what I decide on anyway.

Do not put a formulation, a process specification, a bill of materials, a cost breakdown or a named customer into a form on a website — not mine, not anyone's. If the thing you need to discuss is one of those, write to hello@avci.com first and say so. I will tell you whether I am able to sign a confidentiality agreement before you send anything.

06

Why this page exists.

Because the alternative is a sentence in a footer promising that I would never do anything with your information, which is exactly what someone would write whether it was true or not.

A bounded promise you can check is worth more than an absolute one you cannot.

Still want to send it?

Then you have read the one page most investors do not write. Short beats polished.
